Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that defies usual predictions, the game developer has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "An unusual confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of banned rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "strange experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Latest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
