Vinted Users Share Displeasure About Size Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Response
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Updates
Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
User Accounts
Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Required Changes
Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she said.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
